New York - An Empire State of Mind

She loved it. Miss Shipley really loved the Met. Museum and this painting by James Rosenquist in particular.

No, this is not a portrait of our party leader Miss Townsend. But it is a favourite image of hers by the artist Cindy Sherman. Unlike the lady in this image, Miss Townsend is never to be seen in a kitchen.

And some of our students were lucky enough to see 'Billy' on Broadway. But mind your heads we were up in the gods - the best seats in the house.

New Yorker's really know how to throw a party. This time just around the corner from our hotel - the Macy's Independence Day Parade. It really did have the WOW factor.

It is commonly known that Mr Charles hates shopping - but even he had to agree that this was a great way of seeing Macy's - from the Empire State Building.
